Reflection

The flower drew my eye before the face did. It seemed to hold the image together quietly, as if the centre was something offered rather than claimed.

As I stayed with it, the reflected figure became harder to separate from the one above it. I kept wondering which side was observing and which side was being observed.

What surprised me was how calm the symmetry felt. It did not answer anything, but it made the question feel less urgent.
